Paul is a Counsel to the firm while maintaining an independent practice. Paul's preferred areas of practice include trusts, asset preservation planning, tax sensitive estate planning, trustee services and estate administration.
Paul was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, and is a fifth generation Calgarian. Paul graduated from the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law, in 1986, articled with the law firm McKimmie Matthews and was called to the Alberta Bar in July of 1987.
Paul spent the next three years with Deloitte Haskins Sells working in their Calgary office tax group. He completed the CICA In-depth Tax Course and gained considerable experience in tax compliance and planning. Thereafter, returning to the practice of law in the fall of 1989, Paul’s practice concentrated on tax and trust law planning. Paul enhanced his tax and trust practice by obtaining a Masters of Law, International Taxation, from Regent University, Faculty of Law, in Spring 2001.
