Legal Assistant - Corporate, Commercial & Estates

Caron & Partners LLP is a mid-sized Calgary law firm dedicated to providing clients with quality legal services and strategic counselling for over 55 years. We offer a broad range of legal services in various practice areas.

Our firm is growing, and we are looking for a Legal Assistant to join our team, assisting in the areas of corporate, commercial, and wills and estates departments.


Duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Prepare and manage legal documents related to incorporations, reorganizations, share/asset purchases, and commercial real estate transactions

  • Support estate planning processes including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and personal directives

  • Assist with estate administration tasks, including probate applications and executor support

  • Maintain and organize client files, calendars, and correspondence

  • Liaise with clients, courts, and government agencies in a professional manner

  • Perform general administrative duties including billing, file opening/closing, collections and document management.


Knowledge and Skills Requirements

  • Legal Assistant Diploma from an accredited institution,

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in general corporate and commercial transactions experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in estate planning and estate administration

  • Experience with the Court of King’s Bench electronic surrogate portal and forms;

  • Experience with Unity is considered an asset

  • Commercial business lending background is an asset

  • PPR certification is an asset

  • CosmoLex experience is an asset

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Full knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Excellent written communication skills

  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal guidance and training


Salary: commensurate with experience
