Mr. Wong has prepared and filed Canadian
immigration applications to Canadian embassies and consulates
worldwide, including Buffalo, New York, Hong Kong, Beijing, Tokyo,
London, Vietnam and Mexico. Mr. Wong has also prepared and
filed United States temporary status applications. Some of
these applications for immigration to Canada are prepared on
behalf of individuals already in Canada and are processed within
Canada or in Canadian consulates in the U.S. Mr. Wong has
expertise with "in-Canada" application" based on
humanitarian and compassionate grounds as well as applications for
spouses both from within and outside Canada. Difficult
immigration applications are often referred by other legal counsel
throughout Canada for his review and handling.
He has appeared before the following
Courts and Administrative Tribunals on behalf of his
clients: Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal, Immigration
and Refugee Board (Immigration Appeal Division, Immigration
Division and Refugee Division), Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta
and Provincial Court of Alberta (defending Immigration
Prosecutions).
He is consulted on a regular basis by
Canadian media organizations including the CBC (radio and
television) and Canwest Global as a commentator on immigration
issues. Mr. Wong has co-authored, along with his partner Ms.
Jean Munn, a text on Canadian Immigration Law that has been
published as part of the Canadian Encyclopedic Digest of Law
published by Carswell Legal Publishers. The text is a broad
overview of all areas of Canadian immigration law and is in
general circulation for use by lawyers across Canada. Mr.
Wong has also written many papers on immigration matters published
by the Canadian Bar Association.
