Greta I. Reiten, LL.B.

 
Education

Greta Reiten obtained her Law degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1997. She completed her Articles of Clerkship with the law firm of McCarthy Tetrault and was called to the Alberta bar in 1998.
 

Professional Practice
Ms. Reiten currently practices in several areas of law with an emphasis on general litigation, matrimonial litigation, commercial law, criminal and municipal law. Ms. Reiten has argued at all levels of the Alberta courts and conducts municipal prosecutions on behalf of the City of Airdrie.   Greta is a qualified mediator and is able to conduct mediations for clients in family, commercial and corporate law.

Ms. Reiten is able to provide legal counsel to Norwegian speaking clients both locally and abroad.

Associations

Ms. Reiten is the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Bethany Care Society and is the Chairperson of the Bethany Care Society - Public Affairs Committee.  She is an advocate of all issues respecting seniors especially those who require long term residential care.

Ms. Reiten is a member of the Canadian and the Calgary Bar Associations. She served as the Legal Advisor to Biathlon Alberta and was a former competitor in the sport. Ms. Reiten is a member of Sons of Norway and is a member and past Vice-President of the Trollhaugen Language Arts and Cultural Society.  As well, she is a member of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce.

Greta Reiten is a Marriage Commissioner for the Province of Alberta and is also an active participant in youth programs as an instructor at her church.
