Tim
Platnich obtained his
Law Degree from the University of Calgary in 1986. He
completed his Articles of Clerkship with Major Caron
(now Caron & Partners LLP)
and was called to the Alberta Bar in 1987.

Mr. Platnich is

He practices business law, corporate and
commercial litigation, and municipal law..

He
advises and represents clients in such matters as:

structures, including corporations, partnerships, joint
ventures, and proprietorships;

contractual
disputes;
- shareholder and partner
disputes;
- lease negotiation, drafting
and enforcement;
- the purchase and sale of
businesses;
- the protection and
enforcement of intellectual property rights including
trademarks, copyright and patents;
- computer and internet law;
- construction law including
builders' liens;
- municipal and development
law.
He has
significant experience appearing before all levels of courts in
Alberta and in the Federal and Tax Courts. He has appeared before various municipal, provincial and
federal and tribunals.
For three years Mr. Platnich was an instructor at the University
of Calgary, teaching Communications Law in the graduate program of
Communications Studies. Areas of instruction included copyright
and other intellectual property, defamation, telecommunication
regulation, privacy and media law generally.
Mr. Platnich is
one of two managing partners at Caron & Partners LLP.
